The PEI Beer Festival is back for a second year and it has a new home: the Delta Prince Edward Hotel in Charlottetown. And that’s not the only change.
“We have a new and larger venue,” said Mark Fisher co-producer. “The festival is also expanding to two days and features two evening tasting sessions, booths with specially prepared food, entertainment, VIP options, and a layout designed to make it easier for people attending the festival to enjoy the experience.”
Last year saw the debut of a new PEI brewery, Barnone. The PEI company will be back. And for the first time, the festival will feature beer from the Quidi Vidi Brewery in Newfoundland.
Added to the festival this year is a special industry tasting on the afternoon of Thursday, September 6th for invited members of the food and beverage community.
After each evening tasting, festival-goers can continue to socialize at the Patio Party from 9:30 pm to 1:00 am. A small admission charge gains entry to specially prepared grounds behind the hotel where beer can be purchased and live music is performed by the Love Junkies and the Time Travelling Werewolves.
The festival features regional, national and international varieties from major and micro-breweries. Ticket-holders must 19-years-of-age or older.
